OMICRON orbital station February 2011 Team: Ondrej Doule, Vratislav Saleny, Tomas Rousek, Benoit Herin An orbital habitat for space tourism designed using off-the-shelf Russian space modules. Omicron Space Hotel is utilizing the old Salyut 6 architecture and shell structure. The Omicron’s interior is conceived with a strong emphasis on safety and movement in a weightless environment. The interior is composed of a double skin flexible structure which can be flexibly adjusted according to performed activities inside the habitat. The Omicron Space Hotel in its baseline configuration can accommodate 3 people and its modules do not exceed 25tons in weight. |
